Denise Welch has spoken candidly to Paul Ross about how she improved her life and health.
The actress, known for playing Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street, Steph Haydock in Waterloo Road, and for her time on the panel of ITV's Loose Women, spoke to our presenter about the journey she's been on, and why she chose diet programme Lighterlife to help her out.
"As an actress, everything I did was behind a painted smile," she told talkRADIO.
"I gave up alcohol five years ago - best thing I ever did. [But] as a result of successfully beating that, I discovered I was on the way to having a food addiction.
"I decided I needed to not just lose weight on a diet, but address why I was eating in the same destructive way I was drinking.
"I've improved my health by using Lighterlife, who offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy."
