As if fans of Netflix series Stranger Things weren't happy enough about the imminent arrival season two, they've now got even more reason to cheer.

Series three of the hit horror-drama has been confirmed - even though the second one hasn't even started yet.

The Duffer brothers have not only confirmed the third series, but have also revealed that there could be a fourth series to end the show, according to Screen Rant.

The second series of Stranger Things is said to lay the foundations for the end of the show, which could mean the third series would tell a new story before the fourth series wraps everything up.

Matt and Ross Duffer are said to have many ideas for the show, but it is not yet clear which direction it will take.

In an interview with Vulture, Matt Duffer said that he wants the story to evolve more but perhaps lay off upsetting the children's worlds too much in the show. He said "I don’t know if we can keep having something bad happen to them once a year."

But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let's concentrate on series two - which will be released on October 27.
