Simon Pegg has revealed more about his latest film Ready Player One, which he says isn't far from being a reality.
Pegg plays Ogden Morrow, co-creator of a virtual reality world called Oasis, in which people attempt to complete challenges so they can win the fortune of his recently deceased business partner.
The Shaun of the Dead star told Jamie East and Emma Sexton that mankind was close to Ready Player One becoming a reality because "social media is an opportunity for us to kind of project a version of ourselves onto the internet.
"As soon as we can interact physically with virtual stuff...we’ll be there."
He added that he was still awed to be working with director Steven Spielberg. "I never lose that sense of 'wow' whenever he walks into the room, because of who he is.
"He is just a lovely human being and an incredible passionate creative. His genius is very apparent when you work with him."
Pegg added that you can watch Ready Player One "on a narrative level and follow the story" or "you can watch it on a purely visual level because its stunning to watch" or "you can watch it on a nerdy [level and] spot all the references."
