Thursday, April 20, 2017

A police officer has been killed and another injured in a shooting in central Paris this evening.

Local reports suggest that the attack was perpetrated by two gunmen, wielding Kalashnikov rifles. One gunman has been killed and it is reported that the second is on the run.

An unidentified person was also hit by "cross-fire" in the incident.

The attack took place near the Champs-Elysees, which has been placed in lockdown following the attack.

Paris police have suggested the incident bears the hallmarks of a terror attack, as has US President Donald Trump, who said "it never ends."
