Brexit: Jeremy Corbyn and Michel Barnier's meeting barely observed in foreign press

The meeting between the Labour Leader and EU chief negotiator appears to have been barely noticed in news outlets in France and Belgium

Jeremy Corbyn's meeting with Michel Barnier has received a fair amount of news coverage across British media.

But despite the relative degree of interest, the Labour Leader's meeting with the EU chief negotiator was barely covered at all in foreign news outlets.

None of the major French news outlets, like Le Figaro or 20 Minutes, even covered the meeting.

There was a small summary article on FranceSoir where the Labour leader stressed the EU wants a good relationship with the UK post-Brexit.

Meanwhile, in neighbouring Belgium, the meeting with the EU chief negotiator appears to have received a little more coverage.

Belgian outlet De Morgan, in covering the meeting, claims Corbyn said the UK was ready to proceed with the next round of negotiations over Gibraltar's membership of the EU.

However once again the interest appears to have been threadbare, to say the least.
