Donald Trump has given his official response after Twitter inadvertently removed his account.

The account belonging to the US President - which uses regularly to deliver his official responses to various events - was deactivated on Thursday.

11 minutes later, it was restored, and the company posted an explanation on the site.

A follow-up tweet said the account had been deactivated by an employee on their last day and was conducting a full internal review

Trump said the event was a sign of "the word getting out and having an impact" in his official response to the incident.

Users of the social network quickly reacted to the statement and the account going dark, with some praising the unnamed employee.
