Early election: 'Theresa May is trying to hide her horror Brexit deal', says Labour MP

Early election: 'This is a massive gamble for the Conservatives', says Labour MP

Theresa May has called a snap general election

Theresa May is trying to hide how bad her Brexit deal will be by calling for an early general election, says Labour MP Neil Coyle.

The MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark believes the reason Ms May wants a snap election is that she doesn’t want people to see how bad her Brexit deal will be.

Coyle told Julia Hartley-Brewer that Britain's prospects of securing a good Brexit deal are bleak, so this is her way of trying to pull things together.

He also added that there is a sense of arrogance within the Tory party that it won't be punished for its position on Brexit.
