Sir Vince Cable has confirmed he's "up for" a re-election campaign in the wake of Theresa May's announcement on Tuesday.

The former business secretary, who will be 74 by the time of the election, spoke to Paul Ross after the Prime Minister confirmed she will table a motion to hold a snap vote in June.

The former MP for Twickenham told our host he's willing to get involved in the re-election debate in his old constituency, because there are a substantial majority of people worried about the direction of the country.

Cable claimed a number of people were worried about how the Government seemed committed to the idea of a hard Brexit, and he would like to help to assuage those fears.
