Comedian Ian Moore says he can't work out whether Donald Trump is a genius or nine-year-old for announcing the winners of his Fake News Awards.

The US President has created his own awards to honour the outlets he believes are peddling misinformation, and named CNN, ABC and the New York Times the inaugural winners. Unsurprisingly, he tweeted the link to the awards on Twitter.

Comedian Ian Moore discussed the matter with Jamie East and Saira Khan. He said: "I don’t know whether he's a genius or a nine-year-old. I can't work it out."

Howeever Moore believes there is some method to the madness, and some merit to Trump's 'awards'.

"He's attacking his enemies, so if things go really bad with the investigation into the Russian contacts then, whenever the news comes out, his base, his fan base, goes 'well it’s fake news because look who’s telling us these stories'."

He thinks "what CNN and the New York Times should actually do is hold a ceremony. Call him out on it" and invite him to attend.

Jamie asked "why has he got the time to be doing this?", adding "it's one the most hypocritical things I’ve ever seen in my life."

Moore added "you can imagine sometimes [Trump is] in the White House and he’s locked the door and everybody’s running around looking for him" while he tweets.
