George Galloway says Britain's security nightmare might have been averted had people to him, Jeremy Corbyn and Tony Benn back in 2003.

George told his talkRADIO audience that he, Corbyn and Benn - all long-standing members of the Labour left - warned that the Iraq invasion would lead to problems in the UK.

He added that their concerns were shared by the former head of MI5, Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, who "told Blair precisely what would happen."

However their warnings, George said, were unfounded. Blair, he added, has remained in the public eye and retained his membership of the Labour Party, while George has been banished.
