George Galloway has claimed there is a "double standard" in the attitude taken towards the online abuse Diane Abbott receives.
Our host was speaking to a caller called Robert about Diane Abbott, following the reporting of an alleged incident with David Davis in the House of Commons in the wake of the vote on the Article 50 bill.
The Brexit Secretary issued an apology on Monday after the Mail on Sunday published leaked texts in which he appeared to insult her appearance.
The conversation turned to the online abuse the shadow home secretary receives, and George didn't hold back.
He said: "Diane Abbott gets horrific abuse on Twitter and so do I.
"The police have done nothing when she reports it to them, and they’ve done nothing when I’ve reported it.
"I’m talking people saying how they want to feel a knife going into my body. That happened to me, and nothing was done about it.
"Other people who’ve been threatened in a less violent way have had their cases properly investigated, and this has lead to convictions and in some cases, imprisonment.
"There is a double standard."
