The British wife of Harvey Weinstein has given a statement to say she is leaving him as the scandal around the Hollywood producer grows deep.

Georgina Chapman, a fashion designer, made the comments to People magazine, saying the behaviour of her husband was “unforgivable.”

She said caring for her children were her priority, and asked the media to respect their privacy at this time.

This follows a new series of high-profile individuals – Hollywood hard-hitters Angelina Jole and Gwyneth Paltrow – coming forth with claims of sexual harassment against the 65-year-old.

Both actresses claimed they were subjected to unwanted sexual advances from the producer early in their careers.

They join a growing list of women who have accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, including 16 former and current employees at his own company that he was fired from earlier this week.

Since the scandal erupted, a number of high-profile Hollywood actors, like Kate Winslet, George Clooney, and Meryl Streep have thrown their support behind the victims.

The producer had previously issued a public apology for his behaviour.

Rape allegations have been made against him, and he has denied them.
