An Indian woman has uploaded a video online pleading for help from MPs as she claims her employer in Saudi Arabia is torturing her and will kill her.

The woman claims she went to the country to work as a domestic servant, however her employer now allegedly often locks her inside a room for several days. She also claims the employer sometimes does not allow her to eat.

In the video she asks for help from Bhagwant Mann, an MP in Punjab, where the woman is said to be from, Sputnik reported.

She also claims that the torture has been going on for a year and although she has tried to report the alleged abuse to police, officers have not helped her.

The woman said: “They will kill me. I have children and I want to meet them. Please save me and take me from here. Bhagwant Mann, please help me.

"I am a poor lady and I came here for work but my employer tortures me."

Sushma Swaraj, the foreign minister in India, tweeted the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and said “Javed – please reach her at the earliest” with an article about the woman's plight.
