The Israeli settler who killed a young Palestinian man in a clash on the West Bank had been freed by police.

Muataz Hussein Hilal died after the Israeli man shot into a crowd of people who were throwing rocks at his car.

The settler is believed to have attempted to drive straight through a group of protesters blocking the road.

A video of the incident has emerged, showing the man driving his car into an ambulance and firing out of his back window at a group of people throwing the projectiles.

The incident also saw a Associated Press photographer sustain a hand injury.

The man has said he feared for his life at the time of the incident

The Committee to Protect Journalists has insisted the settler be arrested for the death of the young man.
