A letter written by Prince Charles in 1986 has been discovered which mentions “foreign European Jews” and the “Jewish lobby,” causing much outrage.

Reports claim the letter was written to mentor Laurens van der Post following his visit with Princess Diana to Saudi Arabia, according to Sputnik News.

The letter, which spoke about the Arabs views on Israel, said: "Never realised they see it as a US colony. I now appreciate that Arabs and Jews were all a Semitic people originally and it is the influx of foreign, European Jews (especially from Poland, they say) which has helped to cause great problems."

The Prince goes on to talk about terrorism and wonders how it could be defeated "unless the causes are eliminated."

The letter then states that he hopes the US President will "stand up and take on the Jewish lobby in the US."

Some have claimed this comment is anti-Semitic because of allegations about rich Jews having influence over the US and its relationship with both the Middle East and Israel.

Stephen Pollard, editor of the Jewish Chronicle, has claimed the use of the phrase "Jewish lobby" is astonishing and the whole letter is "jaw-droppingly shocking."
