A club-wielding man reportedly shouting 'Allahu Akhbar' has attacked a Jewish restaurant in Amsterdam this morning, as tension continues to rise after Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
Reports from the scene suggest the man attacked the windows of the restaurant with his weapon before being going inside and grabbing the Israeli flag. He was eventually arrested.
Witnesses told Dutch broadcaster AT5 that the man shouted "Palestine" and "Allahu Akhbar" - which means "God is great" in Arabic.
Footage taken by a by-stander shows what appears to be a man holding a club and wrapped in a Palestinian flag. You can see the footage here:
One of the restaurant's owners, Danel Baron, described the incident as "very intense", while the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, a Dutch body which supports the Jewish state, has called it"shocking and outrageous."
The CIDI added that the event "is probably a response to Donald Trump's speech" in which he recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
This declaration has already brought huge protests in the West Bank, as Palestinians view Jerusalem as one of their holiest cities.
The leader of Hamas has called for an intifada, or uprising, by the Palestinian people, while Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas has condemned Trump's decision.
