Jon Culshaw has given listeners a few quick-fire tips on how to do an impression of US President Donald Trump.

The impressionist has narrated a book called The Beautiful Poetry of Donald Trump.

He told Paul Ross and Carole Malone about how the book came together.

“This is a book brilliantly put together by Rob Sears, who has been trawling through the innumerable quotes, gaffes and sayings of Donald Trump.

“He found they follow certain algorithms, patterns, so when you put them together, they form this poetry."

Culshaw gave our hosts a masterclass in how to do an impression of the US president.

He said: “You start with a little pinched hands.

"Then the head sinks into the shoulders, you have to pout a little bit and talk with a deluded self-belief.

“There’s lots of repetition too. No filter, no restraint, someone who is unfathomably out of their depth and makes it up as they go along.”

Listen above.
