Ken Livingstone has friended his friend Ken Loach against the criticism of Tory MP Tim Loughton, saying the filmmaker is a genius while the politician is simply a non-entity.
Loach, who picked up the Outstanding British Film award at the Baftas for I, Daniel Blake, used his acceptance speech to attack the Tory Government for its "brutality" - prompting Loughton to describe his comments as "drivel."
Livingstone, speaking to Sam Delaney, tore into Loughton for his comments, while adding “the only working-class people [the Government] ever meet is their servants."
The former Mayor of London, a long-time friend of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, also said the social mobility gap is widening under the present government and this is reflected in Parliament, which is blighted by a negligible number of working-class people."
