Labour MP Dawn Butler has defender Jeremy Corbyn’s attendance of the Jewdas event on Passover.

"Jeremy attended a Jewish event he was invited to by his Jewish constituents," she told Julia Hartley-Brewer. "It’s perfectly legitimate for Jeremy to do that. He is a staunch anti-racist, fighting it every day of his life. That’s why he came into politics."

"There are problems within the Labour Party with some people, and they have to be rooted out. But what I would really like is for journalists with that forensic investigation that you’re doing in the Labour Party - do it with all parties.

"Vary your scrutiny, so we can root out anti-semitism, racism, mysogynistic [behaviour], homophobia."
