A Norfolk man who brutally dragged a puppy along a road has been charged with animal cruelty.

Roobert Loombe, 46, has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, Norfolk Police have said.

Loombe, from Gorleston, was charged after police investigated reports of a male dragging the puppy along Magdalen Way yesterday (Tuesday October 10).

He was also charged with a public order offence and being in possession of cannabis.

Loombe was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday 11 October 2017).
