The Scottish Leaders Debate saw a furious confrontation between the SNP and Conservative Leaders

Monday, May 22, 2017

Ruth Davidson launched a furious rant at Nicola Sturgeon in the Scottish Leaders Debate, accusing her of "duping" voters into a second vote on Scottish independence.

In the debate, the leader of the Conservative Party in Scotland responded angrily to the suggestion by the First Minister she was using the issue of independence as a "smokescreen" to cover her party's "toxic" policies.

Sturgeon claimed Davidson was "obsessed" with independence, which provoked an outraged response from the Scottish Conservative Party Leader

Davidson accused the SNP leader of "duping" the people of Scotland, referencing her promise during last year's elections in Holyrood to not demand a vote unless there is popular support for it.

Davidson claimed the Scottish National Party leader wasn't listening to the decision taken by the people in 2014 to remain in the United Kingdom, and said she would respect that decision if elected in June.
