The evidence suggests that Sergei Skripal and his daughter were poisoned just a short time before he was found, according to a former Met Police commander.

Roy Ramm said the investigation is now focusing on the "who, what, where and why," and they need to find out where the poisoning took place, while "building up the picture" from witnesses.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd has said the British people deserve answers about what happened in Salisbury, what we mustn't jump to conclusions.

Ramm agreed with this view, saying that, as well as Skripal, investigators may also need to look at the former spy's daughter, as perhaps he wasn't the primary victim.
