A man has been charged over the bomb attack in New York that injured three people yesterday (December 11).

Akayed Ullah has been accused of making a terrorist threat, supporting an act of terrorism and possession of a weapon.

Police believe it was a pipe bomb that was detonated prematurely at Port Authority station yesterday.

The 27-year-old suspect was also injured in the incident and is being treated in hospital for lacerations and burns to his hands and abdomen, according to CNN.

The three people who were injured were able to go home yesterday (December 11) as they were in a stable condition.

Full details about the plan behind the attack are yet to emerge but it is claimed Ullah had pledged allegiance to Isis.
