Topless members of the radical feminist movement Femen interrupted and heckled a performance by Woody Allen in Germany on Wednesday.

The American actor and musician, who plays the clarinet, had travelled to Hamburg to perform a Woody Allen and New Orleans Jazz Band concert.

But the performance in the Hamburg Philharmonic was interrupted by the two women, who attempted to read from a letter written by Allen's daughter Dylan Farrow in 2014.

The letter, published in the New York Times, claims Allen abused his daughter when she was a child - echoing earlier allegations made by Farrow's mother Mia, Allen's former partner, which he has always denied and have never been substantiated.

The protesters also had extracts from the letter written across their bodies when they stormed the stage, in an intervention typical of Femen, whose members have regularly launched semi-naked attacks on major gatherings shouting slogans in favour of gender equality and women's rights.

After the demonstrators were dragged off stage, the performance reportedly resumed peacefully, with Allen and his band continuing to play.

Footage of the protest was later uploaded to Facebook and Youtube.
