Transfer guru Jim White popped by the talkRADIO studio on the final day of football's winter shopping window - and said he thinks Chelsea will be the biggest spenders today.
Fans of clubs around Britain will be checking their news feeds with feverish regularity today, as the January transfer deadline looms. White, reputedly the best connected man in football, has become so closely associated with transfer deadline day that it has become known as 'Jim White day' on social media.
Many pundits have tipped Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to spend big today, but White reckons Chelsea will lead the way, and could sign up to three players.
He told Paul Ross that Chelsea are likely to sell goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and replace him with Craig Gordon, and also sign a new striker and a full-back as they push for the title.
The long-standing broadcaster also gave Paul an inside look at how talkSPORT and Sky will be covering the action, saying: "It's going to be a busy day, but it'll be up to us to get up to speed very quickly.
"What always amazes me is how late they all leave it.
"They know who they want, they plan it for weeks in advance, but the last hour will be frantic."
