Twitter users have attacked the Bakerloo Line after a fire broke out on one of its trains during rush hour.

An outpouring of smoke from a train on the platform in Oxford Circus prompted the station to be evacuated.

Photos on social media show commuters covering their noses and mouths to avoid inhaling the smoke.

The London Fire Brigade and British Transport Police dealt with the situation, and Transport for London (TfL) shut down the line between Piccadilly Circus and Elephant and Castle to facilitate their work.

While it is running once again, albeit severely delayed, Twitter users have blasted the current state of trains used on the Bakerloo Line.
