The leader of Ukip has split from his partner after she reportedly sent racist messages about Prince Harry's fiancee Meghan Markle.
Henry Bolton has announced he has left Jo Marney, saying their relationship was "obviously quite incompatible" with his political role.
However he has ruled out resigning as leader, according to the BBC.
The split comes after Marney wrote that black people were ugly and that Markle's marriage to Prince Harry would "taint" the reputation of the Royal Family and pave the way for a "black king."
Bolton also said that, while the comments were "utterly indefensible" they were "made some time ago."
Marney has also apologised for the comments, telling the Mail they were "reckless and unnecessary."
Bolton was elected Ukip leader last year, emerging triumphant over Anne-Marie Waters - who came under fire for her own messages about Islam during the campaign.
