A bizarre video has emerged of a man in a wheelchair holding on to a vehicle being towed down the road.
The CCTV footage shows William MacPherson holding on to the car driven by Michael Ward, according to Sky News.
In the footage the pair firstly have a conversation outside a pub in Harrogate before taking part in the stunt.
The car was driven down a number of roads before the wheelchair user let go and the car stopped near a McDonald's.
Ward has now been handed a driving ban for 20 months and is to complete 200 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to dangerous driving last month.
He has also been fined £85 in costs and is to pay a further £85 victim surcharge.
MacPherson also admitted to holding on to the car and has to pay £60 in costs and a £154 fine.
Rob Roberts, a traffic constable said: "I hope the sentence that has been handed to them teaches a lesson to both them, and others, that reckless behaviour will not be tolerated on our roads."
