Westminster attack: MP Nicky Morgan condemns anyone using the attack for their own political advantage

Nicky Morgan says we must stand up for our values

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Former education secretary Nicky Morgan has condemned anyone using the Westminster terror attack to pursue their own political ends.

Yesterday (March 22) a terror attack took place in Westminster. Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage suggested support for multiculturalism is partly to blame for the attack, according to The Independent.

MP Nicky Morgan told Julia Hartley-Brewer that she wants to "completely condemn those who, for their own political motivations, are seeking to take advantage" of yesterday's event.

She also called for violence not to be used to counter terrorism, but said we must make clear that our values "are not to be stamped upon. We’ve got to stand up for these values."

Morgan believes that if our core values are not upheld and respected, this allows "other people to put their own harmful values" to people in this country.
