Media commentator Karen Danczuk has said women who want to criminalise wolf-whistling need to "look at the bigger issues."

Danczuk spoke to James Whale and Ash after Labour MP Melanie Onn said wolf-whistling and cat-calling should be given the status of hate crimes, to give women the confidence to report them.

But Danczuk said "the police are stretched enough as it is" and the law is basically unenforcable anyway.

"if I walk down the street and someone wolf-whistled," Danczuk asked, "am I then obligated to then call 101?

"These people that want to implement this as a law, I think they really need to look at the bigger issues the country faces.

"If women don't want to be looked at, why is the [UK] beauty business one of the biggest in the world? Why do we all want the fake tan and the fake eyelashes?"
