"Zac Goldsmith thought he could dictate the subject of a debate of a by election - a single runway at a single airport," talkRADIO's George Galloway said on Friday night.
He shared his view on the Richmond Park by-election after Goldsmith lost to the Liberal Democrats last night.
Sarah Olney overturned a 23,000 majority, removing the former Conservative MP from the seat.
Galloway said on his Friday night show that Goldsmith should have known he was in trouble if Brexit arose, as his constituency voted to remain.
However he warned that while there's a belief from Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron that the party has risen from the dead, no-one was really voting for him or Olney.
"I caution Farron, a decent fellow but no national leader, not to get too carried away by the by-election victory," he said.
"The Richmond Park result is a huge development. We are now entering an era where issues matter more than parties."
George Galloway also commented on Ms Olney's car-crash interview with talkRADIO's Julia Hartley-Brewer.
The interview earlier this morning lasted just three minutes before the newly elected Richmond Park MP was dragged off air by an adviser.
"Sarah Olney ran away from the first sign of a Thatcherite grilling from Julia Hartley-Brewer."
He also had some advice for the former Richmond Park MP, Zac Goldsmith.
"He should lick his expensive wounds, enjoy his billions, and spend time with his family."
