'Get your head out the sand' - Theresa May criticised over response to homelessness at PMQs

Theresa May said homelessness is about people not figures

Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Theresa May has been criticised online for her response to tackling the amount of homeless people in the UK, with some even describing the Prime Minister "shameful".

During Prime Minister's Questions today, Jeremy Corbyn said it had taken four months for the homelessness task force to meet, before reading a letter from a volunteer calling this a disgrace.

The Labour leader also pointed to a 45% cut in homelessness services. But the Prime Minister responded by saying the problem won't be solved with meetings, The Guardian reported.

May also said that the issue is not about figures, but about people, however this has landed her in hot water as some have pointed out the two are clearly and inextricably linked.

The Prime Minister was also criticised for citing what the last Labour government did, with some saying it's her new catchphrase and evidence of 'whataboutery'.

Others have said she has "no clue" and have blamed the Tories for the amount of homelessness the UK has.
