A British holiday maker has hit out at Thomas Cook because her holiday in the Spanish resort of Benidorm was ruined by too many Spanish guests at her hotel.
Freda Jackson, 81, has complained to the holiday firm after she said that she broke down crying at the end of her two-week holiday in May this year, due to ‘rude’ Spaniards.
Ms Jackson stayed at the Poseidon Playa in the popular resort of Benidorm, with her friend.
Talking to the Metro she said: “The hotel was full of Spanish holidaymakers and they really got on our nerves because they were just so rude.
“One evening a Spanish guy nearly knocked me flying and he just walked off without even apologising.
“The entertainment in the hotel was all focused and catered for the Spanish – why can’t the Spanish go somewhere else for their holidays?”
After she complained to Thomas Cook, they initially offered her and her friend a £75 holiday voucher as compensation, but they declined the gesture. The company then upped their offer to £566 to Freda and her friend, which they’re yet to respond to.
Freda isn’t the only person to complain about the Poseidon Playa hotel being “too Spanish” - we searched the depths of TripAdvisor to find people who have also made the same complaint.
