Ohio state highway patrol claimed they found a stash of 71 pounds of marijuana in the boot of a car, disguised as Christmas gifts.
Daniel Yates, from California, has been charged with possession and trafficking of drugs in the state, following the discovery of the stash last week during a traffic stop.
While driving too close to another vehicle, Yates was pulled over in his rented Ford Expedition on Interstate 80 in Wood County.
A drug-sniffing dog allegedly smelled out the drugs, and following a search, the officers allegedly found 10 gift-wrapped boxes containing 71 pounds of marijuana, 360 THC pills, and a pound of hash wax oil.
If convicted, he faces up to 16 years in prison.
