All-round talent and Eastenders star, John Partridge, spoke to talkRADIO about his foray into the world of cooking.
But this isn't just your ordinary chef reality television programme. The show, Battlechefs, takes place on a cruiser at sea with contestants waking up at different culinary hotspots each day.
"It was one of the best gigs I have ever done," he told Paul Ross. "I've never actually been on a cruise before. It is fabulous waking up in the morning, flinging open your curtains and you're in Barcelona, the next day you're in Corsica, it was just absolutely fantastic.
"The premise of it is, we come back on the ship [after spending some time in the city], and one of us each night becomes head chef. You're in charge of the kitchen, the prep, the cooking time, getting it to the captain's table, entertaining the captain; it really is a baptism of fire."
Partridge did have one tale to tell from the ocean, involving one of his fellow contestants. "Sam Bailey, bless her heart, she thought that prawns were lobster's fingers, so that gives you an indication of her culinary prowess."
