C-3PO and R2-D2 - everyone's favourite droids at 'The Force Awakens' premiere

May the fourth be with you – it’s Star Wars day!

And what better way to celebrate than to chat to the only actor to have appeared in all seven (soon to be eight) films – Anthony Daniels.

Better known as C-3PO, everyone’s favourite protocol droid, Daniels joined Paul Ross to talk about the worldwide phenomenon that is Star Wars.

"Back then [at the time of the first movie] we all went ahead with the script and said these ridiculous words,” he told Paul Ross. "Only George Lucas had total faith in it.

“Eight films later - I’m still wearing the same suit, although it’s been upgraded a little bit. Who knew it would lead to this remarkable thing?”

Not Daniels himself, that’s for sure. He explained to Ross how at first he didn’t even want to be in the films!

“I was a bit snobby, but then I just fell in love with the character and the way George wrote the script around this strange metal figure.”

And as for the upcoming Episode 8?!

“I am currently filming at Pinewoods and the atmosphere on set is gorgeous!" Daniels declared.

“Everyone is having a blast with Ryan Johnson, the director of Episode 8. That’s all I can say about it.”

We guess we’ll just have to wait until Christmas 2017 to see for ourselves.
