Peter Bone has labeled the European Union as the "most corrupt organisation" following David Cameron's comments about Nigeria and Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister was caught on camera referring to them as 'fantastically corrupt' while in conversation with the Queen, describing them as 'the two most corrupt countries in the world'.
But Bone, the MP for Wellingborough, feels Cameron should look closer to home before making such accusations.
"I'm sure the Prime Minister was telling the truth," he told Julia Hartley-Brewer. "But the most corrupt organisation is right on our doorstep, it's the European Union.
"We are giving them £350million a week, and millions and millions of Euros are disappearing. Their own auditors can't account for this money, so the fraud and corruption is right at our back door.
"We should be giving money to specific projects which could improve a country. The real scandal of the whole thing is we need to open our markets to trade.
"What is the one organisation which locks trade with developing countries? The EU."
