The Jon Holmes show is known for pushing the boundaries, but one of the production crew could be in trouble after the scandalous events which occurred in the talkRADIO cafe today.
Jon and producer Dave were discussing the news where an Italian court overturned a homeless man's prison sentence for theft because they deemed him to be in a "state of necessity." Roman Ostriakov was convicted for the crime in 2011 after he stole sausages and cheese from a store in Genoa.
The court has now set the precedent where people stealing "in the face of the immediate and essential need for nourishment" are not committing a crime. So Jon, ignoring the fact talkRADIO isn't in Italy, decided he wanted to test this.
He sent Rud Leng, who's on work experience with the station and was desperately hungry, down to try to steal some food from the building cafeteria, giving him instructions on the phone live on air.
