'This was definitely wrong and against the law' - Political commentator slams Hillary Clinton over email controversy

The FBI recommended no charges be brought against the prospective Presidential candidate

Political commentator Charlie Wolf has blasted Hillary Clinton over the revelations that she used her family's private server for official communications.

It recently emerged the prospective Democratic candidate had sent emails on the server during her tenure as Secretary of State, rather than official State Department email accounts maintained on federal servers.

These communications included thousands of emails that would later be retroactively deemed classified by the State Department.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been investigating the use of the emails and on Tuesday, director James Comey released a statement which recommended no charges be brought against Clinton, but said she'd been "extremely careless" with classified information.

Wolf didn't hold back on the presidential candidate.

"In 'Hillary world', everything is just a small matter," he told Julia Hartley-Brewer. "The FBI does criminal investigations. It shows there was something.

"This was definitely wrong and against the law. How dumb do you have to be?

"If this lady is going to be the President, and she doesn't know it's unsafe to keep records of the State Department on a private server as opposed to a secure server, you just don't do that."

He further condemned her attitude in the wake of the FBI investigation.

"She believes everything she says and justifies it by saying her predecessors did it. She portrays herself as the adult in the room, she's as established as they come, and she doesn't know where you're supposed to keep stuff?

"She comes across with this sort of elitism and flippancy which doesn't relate to the public."
