A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly fatally shooting a 32-year-old man in Accrington.
On Wednesday night (October 25) the man was shot in the chest but died later in hospital, Lancashire Police said.
The boy was immediately held in custody by police, according to The Independent.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated matter and have said other residents in the area are not thought to be at risk.
However more officers are now on duty in the area to "offer some reassurance to the community."
Police have now started a murder inquiry. Detective Inspector Pete Danby said that his thoughts are with the family of the man who died and added "they are being supported by specially trained officers."
