Immigration officials have received reports that a 20-day-old baby has been smuggled into Britain in the back of a lorry.

The baby girl was discovered with a group at Watford Gap services on the M1 according to The Sun.

It is claimed they travelled from The Jungle camp in Calais, where she was born, and witnesses heard shouts that there was no air in the back of the lorry.

The Home Office has said the issue is a concern and is under investigation.

They have confirmed that Northamptonshire Police alerted Immigration Enforcement on Tuesday of the group of migrants on Tuesday, with nine from Iraq and one from Iran.

All are being interviewed by immigration officers.
