The duo responsible for the Best Picture mistake at the Oscars last weekend have reportedly received death threats.
Following the announcement that they wouldn't be working on the awards again, Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz have been given bodyguards and had the security around their homes increased, their employer PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has said.
A mistake regarding the envelopes on their part led to La La Land being announced by actor Warren Beatty as the winner for the award of Best Picture, even though Moonlight had actually won the gong.
The website TMZ reports that the duo are now in fear for their lives as they deal with the fallout from the highly publicised controversy, which saw their names and images splashed across news outlets around the world.
London-based firm PwC and its partnership with the Academy Awards remains under review.
