Alexis Arquette was diagnosed with Aids before her death, according to her ex.
Arquette passed away on Sunday, surrounded by her family, however they did not announce the cause of her death.
Now Robert Dupont has told American site Radar Online that she had been diagnosed with Aids months before she died.
He told the site, "Alexis was living with Aids and she had an inoperable tumor and she had developed an infection.
“I was told [the tumor] went to her liver and throughout her body." He also claimed she was in an induced coma when she died.
Arquette's family has not confirmed his claims, but Dupont reportedly dated the actress in the 1990s, before she transitioned to become a woman.
He also told the site that in the time before her death she was living in an Actors Fund home in West Hollywood for people with HIV and Aids, Dupont said she hated the conditions because other residents did drugs and drank alcohol.
