Air BnB is having a massive impact on renting properties in London, a property developer has said.

Finding a property in the great British capital can be a challenge, but Luke Doonan, an interior designer and television presenter, explained how the online service has hiked the competition for finding a basic rent.

"It has a massive impact," he told Julia Hartley-Brewer. "Air BnB was kind of started so you could rent out a spare room to someone who wanted to stay in your area.

"But because we're a greedy bunch and we're human, we've taken it to the next level.

"It's having a massive effect on the rental market and taking away the 'middle-ground' properties in good locations for people who want to rent for six months or a year."
