Theresa May has blasted Jeremy Corbyn over his capability to run Britain, saying he would be “alone and naked” in the Brexit negotiations, in a highly personal attack on the Labour leader.
The Prime Minister, speaking in Wolverhampton, blasted Corbyn’s fitness to run a government, saying that while she was ready for such responsibility, he was not.
The assault comes after reports she has been told to refocus her campaign on Brexit, in order to show herself as the stronger leader in order to increase the poll gap between the Conservatives and Labour - which has narrowed in recent weeks.
Speaking of her rival, May said he is “simply not ready to govern” or “prepared to lead.”
Homing in on Corbyn’s reluctance to use Trident and his supposed lack of preparation to combat terrorism, the Prime Minister claimed he would be particularly exposed when Brexit negotiations begin, 11 days after polling opens on June 8.
She insisted the Labour Leader "will find himself alone and naked in the negotiating chamber" because of his position on the European Union, claiming he has no plan for Brexit.
