American TV icon Charlie Rose has been suspended from major US broadcasters in the wake of a series of sexual misconduct allegations.

Eight women spoke to The Washington Post to make the claims against Rose, with three of them -Reah Bravo, Kyle Godfrey-Ryan, and Megan Creydt - going on the record.

They claim Rose that rose groped them, told one he'd dreamt of her naked, and had also walked around nude himself.

Both the Public Broadcasting Service and CBS have suspended Rose and halted distribution of his programmes.

The broadcaster has released a statement on Twitter to response to the allegations.

In his comment, he described how "greatly embarrassed" he was and accepted responsibility for his actions.

One of the reporters who broke the story, Amy Brittain, has claimed on Twitter more women have come to her with further accusations against Charlie Rose.
