A leading Turkish analyst has told George Galloway it was ridiculous that Russian ambassador Andrey Karlov had no protection.

Karlov was shot dead in Ankara yesterday while attending an art exhibition in Ankara. The gunman was an off-duty policeman who said: "We die in Aleppo, you die here.”

Turkish journalist Ilhan Tanir told George Galloway: “Security were supposed to take every precaution to protect the ambassador, especially recently. There have been many warnings regarding the security situation in Turkey.

“Almost every week we hear a big explosion or attack.

“I unfortunately think that Mr Erdogan is not taking any kind of lessons about what’s been happening in the country for the last 18 months."
