Anthony Scaramucci removed from White House Communications role after ten days

The former Communications Director had only been in the job for just over a week

Anthony Scaramucci has been removed from his role in the White House after only 10 days in the position.

The former communications director had been at the centre of a storm of controversy after he called a reporter and delivered a profanity-laden rant at his colleagues, notably arch-rival Reince Priebus, Trump's chief of staff.

Priebus and Trump's press secretary Sean Spicer had earlier resigned their positions, apparently in protest at Scaramucci's appointment.

The decision to remove Scaramucci was made by new Chief of Staff General John Kelly.

Trump has yet to make a statement on the matter, although he was reportedly unhappy with Scaramucci's performance.
