A pensioner is travelling across the UK, changing road signs from kilometres into miles.
Derek Norman has been changing road signs for the last 16 years, according to The Independent.
He co-founded Active Resistance to Metrication, who believe distance signs should be in miles and yards.
It is believed that Norman has changed or removed around 2,000 signs so far.
He told the Cambridge News: “It is part of our tradition and heritage. I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to buy a pound of cherries or a piece of steak.
“I think it is a question of freedom of choice to use what we want.”
When going out to change a sign, he says that he holds the ladder and passes stickers up, as his "sense of balance is not so good."
