Michael Morpurgo joined Yasmeen Khan and revealed his strong views on grammar schools, education and literature.
The author, well known for children's books such as War Horse, Kensuke's Kingdom and Private Peaceful, discussed grammar schools and believes when he took the 11-plus exam and failed, it segregated him from those who passed.
After the exam, he always thought of himself as someone who doesn't do well on paper, despite his success as a children's author.
Winner of the Children's Laureate from 2003-2005, Murpurgo said he believe the grammar school system segregates society and that education should be about living a fulfilled life.
